The 8-piece Sound Dunes Swing Combo has been invited to entertain at this summer’s Art In The Park, hosted by The Guild of Harwich Artists. The combo will be performing from 2 to 4 PM on Monday, July 12th. The Art In The Park program allows members of The Guild to exhibit and sell original artwork in Harwich Port’s Doane Park, in what has become a highlight event of the summer.

Each Monday, Guild participants exhibit work in a wide range of artistic styles and mediums including pastels drawings, watercolor, and oil paintings. Artists are thrilled to engage with the public about their work.

Beautiful Doane Park, with gardens maintained by The Garden Club of Harwich, is utilized for many town events including the annual Tree Lighting and Family Carol Sing. Ample public parking available in adjacent Post Office Square host to the Harwich Port Post Office, CVS Pharmacy, True Value Hardware, and Dunkin’ Donuts. Strolling and shopping Harwich Port center? Doane Park is an easy walk from Harwich Port center including the Guild’s Art Gallery at 551 Route 28.

The Sound Dunes Swing Combo will be performing music from The Great American Songbook, written by greats such as Gershwin, Porter, Ellington, Basie, Mercer, Carmichael and other contemporary composers. Their program, “A Musical Revue” will feature two vocalists and include a mix of swing, Dixieland, Latin, jazz, and soft rock music for your listening, singing, and dancing pleasure. Enjoy the show!
