William J. Maloney, oil and watercolor painter, is the featured Guild of Harwich Artists bank show artist on display during the month of January 2019 in the lobby at Cape Cod 5 Bank, 532 Main St (Route 28), Harwich Port, MA 02646
William J. Maloney, received his B.F.A. degree in painting from Massachusetts College of Art. He has painted for most of his life; and is the retired Art Director of Raytheon Company. He is a Signature Member of both the American Artists Professional League and Oil Painters of America. He is a Master Painter of both the Copley Society of Boston and Cape Cod Art Association. He is a member of the American Society of Marine Artists, Cape Cod Museum of Art, the Chatham Creative Arts Center and the Whiskey Painters of America. His landscapes, seascapes, and city scenes are all done in an “en plein air” impressionistic style using oil and watercolor.
Maloney studied extensively on Monhegan Island under nationally known marine painter, Don Stone, and has taught painting on the Cape for many years. He is the recipient of numerous art awards and best of shows. He has exhibited in New York at the Salamagundi Club, Northeast Watercolor Association, Sea Heritage Museum and at the Whistler Museum in Lowell, MA. He exhibits regularly at Copley Society of Boston, the Cape Cod Museum of Art, Cape Cod Art Association and the Chatham Creative Arts Center. His work is included in corporate collections of Raytheon Company, the Marriott Hotel in Copley Place, John Hancock Insurance Company, Blue Cross of Boston and many others.
