On a recent sunny Saturday members of the Guild of Harwich Artists gathered in Doane Park in Harwich Port to celebrate (age 100), a co-founding member of the Guild. The impetus for the gathering was the recent installation of a park bench that commemorates the founding of the Guild by local artists who started selling their art in Doane Park in the mid-1970’s. The Guild’s Monday ‘Art-in-the-Park’ during the summer season continues to this day. Proceeds to purchase the oak bench were raised in a silent auction of Vivien’s art in the park last September.
