The Guild of Harwich Artists’ Annual Ornament Fundraiser held during the Harwich Christmas Stroll and on the following weekends at the Art Gallery, was a huge success. Total proceeds after expenses was the highest amount ever for this annual event. This amount was split evenly between two charities selected by the Guild’s Board of Directors: The Children’s Center, 115 Sisson Road, and the Harwich Children’s Fund. Each organization received $1,374.50.

Thank you to all Guild members who created the beautiful miniature paintings to be used as ornaments on a tree or stand alone on a table or desk. Tiny gold frames held watercolor or colored pencil paintings, as well as small canvases of oil, and acrylic. So much talent – and so much admired by all the buyers of the little gems. There were many comments on their beauty and at such a bargain price of $15 each. “We appreciate all that is done for the children and are honored to participate,” said Chris Banks, President of the Guild of Harwich Artists.

“I bought a whole bunch myself and kept some and gave some as gifts. I just love them! The money raised will go a long way to help our children and families. We really appreciate the support of our community,” remarked Abigail Newberry-West, Director of The Children’s Center.
