The General Meeting will take place on January 25, 2020, not January 18, due to the Martin Luther King Holiday, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Michael Rudden encourages all Guild members to attend the meeting to kick off our fifth decade. Following our formal proceedings, we will engage in a ‘Listening Session’ to allow newer members from getting to know longer-standing members in an informal setting. Second, in preparation, think about what your art means to you and how the Guild can support your quest. This will help start a dialogue toward charting a course for the future.

Membership Renewal Tara Goss reminds everyone November is membership renewal time. Dues Artist $30, Associate $20. Applications online or at the Art Gallery.
Thursday’s Open Painting 1:00-4:00 pm. at the Harwich Community Center room #2, all welcome. December 5 will be dedicated to ornament assemblage for the stroll on the evening of December 6. The Christmas Ornament Sale in November 2018 was $1377. Another $390 was collected at the July Brooks Fair and $195 from the September Cranberry Festival. All totaled $1962.00. Christmas Stroll/ Ornament Sale 2019 will be held on December 6, 2019.
Guild Charitable Donations A check for $585 will be presented to the Harwich Children’s Fund. Cranberry Festival 2019 Earnings of Art Sales at the Cranberry Festival Tent Sale: 15% of sales brought $99.30 to the Guild.
Make It Take It 2020 Michael Rudden has applied for a grant from the Harwich Cultural Council. The event date is yet to be scheduled.
Local Bank Shows Remember to sign up for the 2020 Bank Shows Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, Harwich Port – One month at a time: Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod, East Harwich – 2 months at a time Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, East Harwich Bank Art Show Fall Series features Elaine Felos Ostrander (Nov. – Dec.) at both the Cooperative Bank East Harwich and the East Harwich Cape Cod 5 in East Harwich. Maryrose Reynolds showed her work at Cape Cod Five Cents in Harwich Port in November and is followed by Kathleen Magnusson in December.
The Art Gallery
Gallery Event MTA at the Gallery, Saturday, December 7, 1:00-4:00 p.m. Sedona Summer will be talking about the process of illustrating her children’s book, Spunky Sherry Sprite, the girl that loved to dance.
New Gallery Policy The Gallery voted a new policy on the selling of artists’ books. The new policy shall read: ALL BOOKS TO BE SOLD AT THE GALLERY MUST BE APPROVED BY THE OPERATING COMMITTEE. Books an Artist has illustrated may be offered for sale when the Artist has a Meet the Artist event at The Gallery. The Artist may promote the event by publicizing or advertising the book.
The Art Gallery Closes for the season on December 15 and will reopen mid-April.

Donna Tavano and Sedona Summer are displaying their art at the Cape Cod Media Center gallery at 17 Shad Hole Road, Dennis Port.
Five guild members: Marion Harcourt, Chris Banks, Katherine Vacca, WeddieTyldesley, and Donna Tavano will have work exhibited in an art show at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Chatham.
Braintree Art Association Annual Fall Exhibition A third place was awarded to Joan Carroll for an oil painting. Joan also exhibited twelve works at the Thayer Public Library in Braintree. as the Artist of the Month for October and November.
Barnstorming Event 2019 Cape Cod Arts Center in Barnstable. Participants Larry Folding and Christine Banks spent the day painting and then attended the Party and Wet Paint Auction. Both artists sold paintings. They said it was a beautiful day of friends, food, and sales, and recommend other Guild members participate next year.
