Robin G. Litwin is a Harwich artist and photographer. “I started painting five years ago when we moved to Cape Cod. I work in a series; pears, flowers, trees, oceanscapes and most recently a series on my father. Painting the same subject helps me focus, go deeper and experiment. I strive to explore the lines between real and abstract , organic and geometric and hard and soft. Photography is embedded in my imagery and informs my painting. When I create work I am thinking about color, composition and mark making. I love strong pure pigment and vivid shapes.”
Robin grew up in Rye, New York and spent every summer of her life in Chatham. She graduated from Tufts University and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts. In 2008 she retired from a 25 year career teaching in the Art Department at Cambridge Rindge & Latin High School where her students “inspired her everyday.” She exhibits her work on Cape Cod and throughout New England and has won numerous awards. She loves to work in a variety of mediums and is currently exploring encaustic photo transfers. Robin’s studio is located at the Harwich Cultural Center, 204 Sisson Road, Harwich.
