Michael Hilbig

Michael Hilbig is a skilled, finish carpenter and an emerging watercolor artist. With no formal training, Michael honed his natural talent with YouTube videos and began painting only three years ago. During the early morning hours before work and before his children awake, he can be found painting in his studio, a small corner of the family room.

Inspired by the natural beauty found on family hikes and geocaching adventures, he enjoys painting a variety of landscapes and seascapes with an affinity for waves. Using various techniques and colors, he loves to capture their uniqueness of form, strength, and movement.

Michael and his wife Jenny have been foster parents for four years. Together they have welcomed over ten children into their hearts and home. They adopted their son, now 3-years-old, in 2019, adding to their three adult children.

Finding himself nearing retirement, yet now raising another child, they have plans to “take it on the road” and travel in their RV in the next few years. Michael looks forward to exploring our diverse country and trying his hand at painting many different landscapes along the way.
