Martha Kempe

Bridge at Spohr Garden for web page.JPG

Martha Kempe is a landscape painter and former art teacher with over thirty years of art teaching experience in Massachusetts. She enjoys the natural beauty of Cape Cod’s ever-changing light and color which inspires her paintings in oils, acrylics, and watercolors. Her paintings reflect the influence, mood, and spirit of our beloved landscapes.

Martha is happiest painting en plein air alongside other artists who similarly enjoy painting directly from nature. Each painting session is a stimulating journey with new problems and discoveries along the way and oh so much fun!
Martha is grateful for the many opportunities for personal and professional development afforded her through exhibitions, study, and travel grants. Her travels inspire her to keep learning and to paint with passion. She shows her work in museums and college galleries as well as community venues. Her paintings are in private collections throughout New England. You may enjoy viewing her newest paintings at the Guild of Harwich Artists Gallery and “Art in the Park.”
