Artist’s Statement:

Returning to art after so many years was like finding a long-lost love. I had worked in oil, acrylic, watercolor and printmaking. But when I recently tried pastels, I was hooked. The colors you can find in a world filled with ever changing light, is amazing to me. And pastels are a medium where these colors can be depicted in their brilliance and subtleties, and in my imagination. I am excited about each painting I do and anxious to see where the journey will lead me.

Marlene’s work can be seen at The Art Gallery in Harwich Port, Cape Cod, MA. Marlene has also exhibited her work with the Pastel Painters of Cape Cod, the Art League of Bonita Springs and the Southwest Florida Pastel Society.
