After graduating college with a BA in Fine Arts I veered from my arts background into four exciting careers, pursued a Doctorate in Psychology, and taught at the university level.
My scientist husband and I both retired to our Cape Cod home in Woods Hole in the early 90’s. There I became immersed in the world of science, the scientific community, blue fish, striped bass, shell fishing, antique glass, and a Summer rental business.
My artwork followed a similar series of detours into other diversified art experiences including administering cultural programs for town and county governments along with designing and managing a Cultural Arts Center that brought Nationally Known Artists to teach low-cost workshops for local community residents.
I formerly studied Early American Painting and Decorative Art with master artists in the field. I was surprised to learn many of my teachers were classically trained to teach fine art in the Early American style. As a member of HSEAD the Historic Society of Early American Decoration I trained under their master guild artists. Over the years, I participated in multiple workshops in oil, acrylic, and mixed media on both the state and national level.
Currently, I am a Contributing Artist for Eclectsia Art Boutique in Harwich Port owned by Donna Tavano along with pursuing another interest of mine writing and illustrating children’s stories.
Retired now, for the third time, I live in the Chatham Harwich area with my three lively furry Siamese boys. I am looking forward to studying with and learning from fellow member artists of the Guild. Eventually, I would like to display my work in Art in the Park.
