Anne is convinced that the first tool she used was a crayon, and certainly not a hammer. She’s been involved in creative endeavors ever since. Her great aunt, a successful contemporary of Singer Sergeant, encouraged her throughout childhood, but when she entered college, she majored in the more practical fields of occupational therapy and psychology. Drawing and painting were relegated to hobby status, but remained a passionate interest. Her careers evolved and diversified over the years to include teaching at Tufts University, being a marketing training manager at Polaroid, and a product manager for Harvard Business School Publishing. She applied her creative spirit and problem solving to all of these positions, but seldom got to put paint to paper, until 2010. Upon retiring, Anne pursued art by taking numerous courses at local and regional art centers, and at in-residence programs in Provence, France and West Dean College in Chichester, England. Anne believes that she learns from all artists, but she especially favors Degas, C. Arnold Slade and the Swedish artist, Carl Larsson.

Recent work has been exhibited at the Gallery Blink in Lexington, and a two-person show, Fresh Produce: from the Garden of the Imagination at the Audubon Sanctuary in Belmont, MA. She has also exhibited in the 2014 – 2017 open Juried Members I and II, and the Roddy exhibits at Concord Art, and the National, All New England, All Cape Cod, and Breath of Spring exhibits at the Cape Cod Art Association, where she is also a juried artist member. Anne is a frequent exhibitor at the Arlington Center for the Arts and other local and regional arts centers. She is an artist member of the Art Gallery, Guild of Harwich Artists, in Harwich Port, MA.

Anne is currently a member of the Arlington Center for the Arts, the Attleboro Art Museum, the Cape Cod Art Association, Concord Art, the Guild of Harwich Artists, and the Cape Cod Museum of Art.
